KIRKLAND, WEEK 3

May 28th - June 3rd 2012

The weather was sad, rainy and grey. Previous entry described our one day trip to Wallace state park. Other day off (going with J's work schedule), we took a break, walk to downtown Kirkland to see Farmers market. We already attended few markets around (Juanita, Bellevue, Lake Forest), so we had something to compare. There are usually few stands with fruit and vegetables, but mostly is artsy stuff and food. Pricey stuff. Pricey farm's products too. I guess, after visiting Detroit's Eastern market, those small ones just do not measure up.
So ...

Friday, we left for Portland, Oregon to visit friends. There is not many pictures, because we were mainly visiting, catching up and talking .... and so on.
About three hour drive from Kirkland. Really, not much to say about that.

Saturday

We drove through Portland and ended on the farm, where we picked up some strawberries. We did experience Northwestern weather. Walking towards the field, we got wet, in less then two minutes, there was plenty of sunshine to enjoy strawberries. Hmm ... tasty.

That is where the farm was.

More driving. Multnomah Falls in The Columbia River Gorge. Too many people, but really nice nature site.

I think, that was a view from the waterfall site. And I guess that is Columbia river. Deep green forest, river and not many towns in this pretty area.

We all met in Prague, Czech republic, so we got a bit nostalgic (local version of rum) and recalled some memories. Fun.

Having fun. You have to as well accommodate children and dogs.

The visit was over pretty soon. You cannot stretch two (not even full) days too far. It was fun. And again on the road, entertaining ourselves with strange stuff around road (like this).

Near our apartment, we got something to eat. As well experience sort of time jump. Burgermaster, kind of fast food, where you park, order with waitress and get your food in the car. It was not bad.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
