DAY 5 (August 17th)

BOISE-SALT LAKE CITY

By 9 am, we were leaving Boise. Gasoline got cheaper compared to Washington and Oregon. We still did not know about J. license and first week at work. The housing situation was not resolved either. Tired, with headaches and not enough sleep we started to head towards Salt Lake City. We were visiting family there. Originally, we wanted to drive and see Crater Moon Park, but that would add about three hours of driving, so we changed our plan. The whole time in Idaho, I was looking for potatoes (did not see any). Truck with onions was closest to potatoes.

The drive was boring. Farming and nothing else as far as you could see. J. was dealing with housing and we were offered quite big furnished condominium. It was not the cheapest option, but there were many benefits to this choice. It was going to be available on Sunday, all utilities and fees were included (internet and cable too) and it looked nice on pictures. Being pressed by time (it was Friday), we took that choice. It made as happier and less stressed. City of Twin Falls, we drove through to get to the Shoshone Falls. Nice park, parking lot and few pathways around the falls. Incredible falls. We were trying to get to Salt Lake before 4 pm (family was leaving for few hours at that time), so we just enjoyed the falls for a moment and got back on the road.

The drive was boring. Something between plains, desert and hills going up and down. It was interesting (time to time), but it was a lot of driving.

Again, the landscape did not really change, the speed limit increased to 75. Otherwise just boring driving.

It looked like we would make it on time, so we just kept driving. We had some quick looks at city (from freeway) and figured out; we will see some more before leaving next day. More less without any problems, we found the place of J. family. Greetings, some talking and quick early dinner before they left for some other family function. After that, we unpacked some, rested and took walk to the store to get something sweet. They got back around 8.30, talk and bed at about 10 pm.
PS. It was first time I actually saw Pixy sticks.
